Vacuum Filter Holders with Funnel YKTG Filtrovac © for 25, 35, 47, 50, 90 mm membrane filters

Vacuum liquid filter holders are used for filtrating liquid through flat disk membrane filters with a diameter of 25, 35, 47, 50, 90 mm.

Liquid filter holder for membrane filtration is a distribution device with a collector for the filtered medium and a vacuum pump connected to it. A special Teflon or polymer container produced by YKTG or a standard ISO bottle with a GL45 thread manufactured by Simax, Schott Duran or other manufacturers can be used as a collector.

The distribution device of a liquid filter holder is equipped with the seat for a membrane filter of the corresponding diameter. The membrane filter is pressed by means of a threaded flange-cup of the filter holder in which the filtered medium is poured.
If membrane pressure filtration is required, the filter holder can be completed with a special flange-cup equipped with a pressure cap and a fitting for pressurizing.

Filter holders YKTG Filtrovac are designed for a wide range of applications and can be used in combination with filtrate collectors ranging from 100 ml to 20 l with a standard GL45 thread and other auxiliary devices.

Application

Clarifying filtration

Liquid filter holders YKTG are perfect for general removal of particles and large microorganisms, for clarification, purification and ultra-purification of various liquids. They can also work with sufficiently large volumes of liquids. That makes them the most common type of laboratory equipment for membrane filtration using Millipore filters or similar ones.

Sterile filtration

Sterile filtration of liquids using liquid membrane filters is a popular method for preparing pharmaceuticals, infusion solutions, and also biological samples for laboratory purposes.

Exploitation

  1. Attach the filter holder to the receiving container for the filtered medium by means of the threaded connection, turning it clockwise until it stops.
  2. Attach the vacuum source to the vacuum tap.
  3. Detach the flanged container by turning it counterclockwise or removing the clamp clip (depending on the filter holder model).
  4. Carefully place the membrane filter on the supporting grid of the filter holder into the seat located on the distributive part of the filter holder housing.
  5. Close the housing, holding the distributive part of the housing. Attach the flange-cup by turning it clockwise until it stops or clamping the clip.

For membrane pressure filtration use a special flange-cup with a pressure cap and the vacuum-off plug.
